How to fill in a form that someone send to me?

When someone sends me a form to fill in, a form with dotted lines, squares to put a V, numbers and even signatures, how do I do that?

Hi Joepiet,

the answer depends on whether the form is a "fillable form" or a flat page with boxes that are not clickable.

On a "fillable form" you just select the appropriate field with the select tool. Fillable forms open with an info bar that has an option to highlight the fields.



This makes it easy to know what you can expect to be able to fill out with just a click of the select tool.

If the PDF is not a "fillable" form but a PDF version of a simple piece of paper then use the "Typewriter Tool" - it can place text anywhere on a PDF other than a fillable form field!
