feature request: "save as optimized" default location

Hi,
I use the "save as optimized" feature a lot to compress scanned documents, to save disk space.
And I like that there are so many options to control the compression.
Unfortunately there are no options to control the default location of the "save as"
My purpose of compressing is to replace a large document containing many scanned images with a smaller document with the same content.
Therefore I would like the compressed document to have
- the same filename
- the same location
as the original document.
I simply want to overwrite it.
That's how optimizing works by default in Acrobat and Turbo PDF.
But the PDF Xchange Editor "save as optimized" feature seems to have a different use model in mind.
Because
- it remembers the last location that an optimized file was saved to
- it appends "optimized" to the filename (even if the filename already had "optimized" at the end)
Maybe the thought was that all optimized files would be stored in some central location? (but If I have that extra space, then why optimize?) The "optimized" appendix to the filename is also funny... it only makes sense if the file is only ever optimized once. If I add pages to the file and optimize it again, then I'd end up with "optimized_optimized....etc".
This default setting makes my life miserable...
- every time I want to save an optimized document, I have to remember that I need to click my way from some old location (where the last optimized file was saved to) to the location of the current file (this can be many many clicks). And if I forget to do that, and just click save... then I have to go looking for the file... in some location where the last optimized file was saved.. which I don't remember
- and then, after I clicked my way to the location of the current file, I have to remember to either remove the "optimized" from the filename, or click on the file that I want to replace
that's a LOT of clicks and keyboard action for a simple "save as"...
Hence my request:
- could you please make the default file location for "save as optimized" the same as the file that is being optimized? (just like regular "save as")
- could you please make the default file name for "save as optimized" the same filename as the file that's being optimized? (just like regular "save as", the "overwrite?" prompt will take care of accidental overwriting)
- or, if you don't want to make these two settings the default, could you include these as options in the "save as optimized" dialog GUI (and remember the selections)?
thanks
