Digital signature issue

Post by Illana »

Hi we have one user experiencing a problem we attempting to place a digital signature.

The error message received is:

The signature placement failed.
Error [System] Object already exists.

This happens on a blank document also so I don't think the message is accurate.

Anyone come across this before?

Reinstalling the software did not have any effect, they told me ever since we started using digital signatures they were not able to use them (this has been 5 months now).

Hello Illana,
That is a peculiar issue,
How are you creating these documents, have they tried using all the Signature options?
Could you verify if it happens with all signature types, For example, does a timestamp give this same error?

Also, could you verify that you are using the current version V7.0.324.3?

7.0.324.2 at the moment, I can update and try again.

We use a certificate authority server to do our digital signing so I don't think a timestamp will be appropriate.
I created a blank document just within the program itself.

EDIT: appears to be local profile corruption. I had the user log into another machine and they were able to sign without issues. I have just deleted their local windows profile and gotten them to log into a fresh one and the error has gone
