Dear forum
We use a pdf file as sort of a central directory, it contains several links to other pdf-files.
With other pdf-softwares, clicking on a link opens the belonging pdf file.
Since we are using PDF XChange Editor, clicking on a link opens a Internetexplorer window, leading to nowhere.
I'd like to undo this behavior of cource
Did I miss an option, or do I have a missing file allocation?
Because it is a large amount of data, I limit myself to 2 example files:
- "INHALT" the central directory
- "K010_Einfuehrung" the pdf file which belongs to the first link on page 2 in the file "INHALT"
Currently installed PDF XChange Editor 7.0.234.3, also tested with 7.0.232.1.
Many thanks in advance!!!

Hello NSE,
it appears these links were created as web links, which is causing the browser issue,
you have two options in this case.
1. If they are intended to be globally accessible, place the files in this list on a webserver, and edit those links to be download links, so that the user who clicks them will easily receive the file.
2. If they are internal only, you will want to set this document to have a link to another document:
you can perform these operations by using the link creation tool.

Re: Open pdf from a pdf
Hello Daniel
Thanks for your quick answer!
For me, the question arises why in every other pdf-programm it seems to works by itself and only since I'm using Xchange editor, whicht I never would exchange back to the other softwares, the links don't work anymore.
For me, as an "non-computer scientist" it seems like while all other pdf-programms know to search for the linked document in the same directory folder as the "Inhalt"-file, Xchange doesn't know.
I'm still worried, that the fault hides in my programm settings
Currently installed PDF XChange Editor 7.0.234.3, also tested with 7.0.232.1.
Many thanks in advance!!!
Regards
Matthias

So, it looks like this was a bug that has been reported fixed for the upcoming release of build 325. Once that release is out please let me know if anything changes!
