Hi all
I'm trialling the form editor and I wondered if it was possible to have a field that created its own unique number much like a serial number for each new form created?
I am using V6.0 Build 321.0
Thanks

Re: Serial No in Form Field
When placing form fields they are auto numbered by default, the only exception to this is when copy/pasting them, which of course duplicates the names.
I am curious though if you are trialing, why are you using such an old build? We are now in v7.0.324.3.

Hi
Now I'm curious because I've just run the update routine so why is it telling me I've got such an old version?

Re: Serial No in Form Field
It could be that you have the checkbox to hide updates you are uneligible for checked.
To circumvent this you can try unchecking this box, or simply download the editor from this link: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/downloads/PDFXVE7.zip

Re: Serial No in Form Field
Hi Daniel
I've rerun the updater and it's worked OK this time, it's now telling me V7.0 Build 324.3
I'm not sure what you meant in your original reply, I'm looking for a field that automatically updates itself with each new form, ideally a 6 digit number that increments by one with every new form.
Is this possible?

Re: Serial No in Form Field
what I meant is that when you place a form, it will name itself with a number automatically. For example a text field begins numbering [text1, text2, text3, etc.]
currently there is no function built in to change the default numbering scheme, but if you have soe programming knowledge you could certainly create a function using JavaScript.
