Hyperlinks between a main pdf-document and an attached document
Hello,
I have a main pdf-document and a second pdf-document attached inside my main document.
Then
1) I use create link to open my attached document, with "Go to a page in the Embedded document".
2) I select "This document" then OK
3) I select the target document in the box "Choose Embedded file" – Then I select the Attached file,
4) At the end, I use the page number (not #1) to open my attached document.
Then I save my main document.
The problem is: When I try to open with the link, my attached document at the correct page, the attached document opens always the page #1
Regards,
Gerard,
France

Hello all,TrackerSupp-Daniel wrote:Ive created a bug report for this matter, hopefully we can begin work on it soon!

I have to produce a technical guide before the end of this month.
This guide contains about thirty links to reports, letters, drawings, etc.
I have two means to do that:
1) Links to attached files (preferred) ;
2) Links to files outside the guide.
Do you think that the bug will be easily corrected in the next release?
If so do you have an idea for the date of the next release?
Best regards
Gerard

Hello Gerard,
I've just checked the ticket - and there is no estimate in it yet when it will be fixed, so unfortunately I am not able to answer your above enquiry with any specific dates and times.
So please consider using external files for now, until the problem is confirmed fixed!
Thanks,
Stefan

I just tried the new 325 release, to see if the bug has been fixed.TrackerSupp-Daniel wrote:Ive created a bug report for this matter, hopefully we can begin work on it soon!

For me, Hyperlinks to embedded documents is always faulty
Am I right? If yes when do you think that the bug will be fixed?
Best Regards

Hi Gerard,
Just checked the ticket, and unfortunately there has not been much movement in it!
I will ask for an update now.
Regards,
Stefan
p.s. I've just spoken with a colleague from the dev team and he says that this issue will be fixed in build 326 of our products that is due for release in the next few days!

Re: Hyperlinks between a main pdf-document and an attached document
I highly suggest that you remove (or grey out) these "Features that Don''t Work" from the menus and the doumentation. "Links to embedded documents" is one of the features that caused me to purchase PDF-X Editor Plus - and it flat out has never worked! I have spent quite a few hours of trial and error testing trying to figure out how to make it work - BECAUSE IT WAS RIGHT THERE IN THE DOCUMENTAION AND MENUS with no indication that it was just a vaporware feature - and just one of many that are know to exist.

Re: Hyperlinks between a main pdf-document and an attached document
Hello JohnBear,
As per Stefan's previous post, The Links to Embedded Documents feature had a bug that has been resolved since the 326 release at the beginning of July. We are now in build 326.1 and the function still seems to be working correctly.
Please let us know if, after updating, this does not work for you.
