Dynamic Stamps: Hidden property not supported?

Post by Klaus Müller »

Hi,

In a dynamic stamp, I need to change the visibility of multiple buttons (containing wet signature images) setting the "hidden" property in JavaScript.
This stamp works as expected in Acrobat.

PDF-XChange Editor (7.324.2) does not seem to support this – all buttons are always visible.
In fact, also in a static stamp all button fields are always displayed, even if they are hidden in the field properties.

Could you please verify this?

Thank you,
Klaus

Hello Klaus,

Can you please share a copy of the stamp, and some screenshots of how it works in Adobe and our Editor?

Regards,
Stefan

Hello Stefan,

In the attached stamp file, there is 1 invisible text field and 1 invisible button on the left as well as 2 buttons that are hidden/shown with JavaScript on the right.
Image
In Acrobat, only the right button is displayed (as expected).
Image
In PDF-XChange, all buttons as well as the invisible text field are displayed.

(Note: The JavaScript with the hidden-code is placed in the "txtUser" field.)

Edit: Screenshots are not displayed (why?) but are also attached.

Kind regards,
Klaus

Hello Klaus Müller,

I've fixed your images slightly and now they show.

I see the problem with your stamp now and have passed it to our devs for further investigation.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

Thank you. Could you please tell me what exactly has to be changed?

Thanks.

Please notice the distinct difference of the drop shadow rendering between Acrobat and PDF-XChange (in post #3).
Is there any chance to make this displaying similar?
(please tell me if I should start a new thread for this issue)

Kind regards,
Klaus

Hello,

I've just looking to this myself as well, and it seems they are showing exactly the same way in acrobat(left) as they are in the Editor(Right),(both the buttons and shadows) unless I turn on the field select tool, then the hidden boxes show.

As for making your images show, i believe stefan added the "{/img}" containers,(I used curly brackets when they need Square ones to exemplify for you)

Hello Daniel,

This is true when you open the stamp PDF directly, but not if you use it as intended (as a stamp file).
Place the previously attached stamp file "TestVisibilty.pdf" in the Stamps folder
(C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Tracker Software\PDFXEditor\3.0\Stamps),
restart PDFXEditor and place the stamp into a PDF document.

I see it now, sorry I skimmed over the earlier posts, and didn't notice that part of it.
Nonetheless, as Stefan as said, its been passed to the Dev team, hopefully they will get back to us soon regarding the matter.
Until then, have a good one!

There was an issue in the Editor, and I fixed it.
The fix will be available in next build.
