Install error 2203

I attempted to install PDF-XChange Editor 7.0.324.2 on XP SP3. I initially tried the MSI version, then I tried the full download. In both cases, it failed with error 2203. I tried to attach the log file, but this failed: "Invalid file extension: install.log". I renamed it to install.txt and got the same error.

How can I report this error?

Can you try MSI version with command line /lvx*! inst.log and then send us this inst.log file which will be created in the same folder where MSI file is?

I found another log file in the temp folder (attached). Note that line 304 contains

The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2826. The arguments are: WelcomeDlg, BottomLine, to the right

Maybe this is what you were looking for.

Please check if the folder where you are trying to install the Editor has proper permissions.

I checked the link, but none of the suggestions were relevant for my situation. I am running XP Home (not Professional), so the security rules are not relevant.

I did some more research for this error, but none of the suggestions helped.

In a few weeks or months, I will move to my Win 10 PC that is sitting idle. I will re-try your product then. Until then, I will continue with Adobe Reader and its limitations.
