Batch Export/Import of comments

Post by MymsMan »

I know that I can export comments to fdf files an import them via the Comments menu but I have a significant number (around 150) files where I need to merge comments, is there a way I can automate this.

AFAIK this isn't currently supported in PDF tools or via command line options

Ideally I would like to be able to create a series of commands like

Code: Select all

PDFXEdit pdf-file.pdf /Export comments.fdf
PDFXEdit pdf-file/pdf /Import comments.fdf

Hello MymsMan,

Thank you for your post. It would seem that PDF-Tools contains no function to import or export comments. Because it is intended to batch process documents, it would seem the logical software to add this feature to. I have asked the dev team to consider implementing these functions so that the operations can be performed as a batch, even via command line using PDF Tools.

Sorry that I do not have an immediate solution at this time.
If posting files to this forum, you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded.
Thank you.
