Mostly, OCR page(s) (optical character recognition) is applied to PDFs - whose pages are images from scanned text - to make them searchable.
Sometimes, you have PDFs with real editable and searchable text, but that contain images with text in it (like in a logo).
To make that kind of text also searchable, you can apply OCR to image(s).

I still don't get it. If I ocr - text an page with an imaged logo in it, the ocr picks up the text in the image just like the text elsewhere. So what does ocr-image do that ocr-text does not do? Is there a way to select the image and do a deeper slower ocr scan of that using the ocr image which would work better than ocr page?

Hello sshank,
Right now, the OCR Image feature OCRs only the rectangle with the image on page, meaning if you have text and image and will try to OCR the whole page then the page itself will be rendered and the text and the image on page will be recognized which will result in the duplicated text. In this case, it's better to recognize the image alone by using the OCR Image feature so the OCR will only be applied to the image region and will give you correct results.
Cheers,
Alex
