Improving workflow

Here's my typical workflow:

1. Scan a bunch of documents to pdf files (resulting in meaningless filenames)
2. Open a file manager
3. Open the first pdf file in PDF-XChange Editor
4. Memorize any key information (dates/names/etc.)
5. Close the pdf file in PDF-XChange Editor
6. Go back to the file manager window
7. Rename the file using information memorized in Step 4
8. Open the next pdf file in PDF-XChange Editor
9. Repeat the last steps 4-8 until all the files are renamed properly
10. Move all the files to appropriate folders

From the comments I have read in this forum, it sounds like others utilize a similar tedious workflow.

(Note that we've discussed adding the functionality of renaming files in other threads... but perhaps there is more that can be done to improve workflow.)

Anything that can be enhanced to streamline this workflow will be appreciated!

Sorry Will. After I wrote it, I realized there might be need for some clarification. In the other threads, we are strictly discussing renaming files. On the other hand, for this thread, I want to open it up to anything that can improve the above workflow.

It is really good to have the workflow outlined step by step, but lets continue in the other thread to keep things simple!
