Dear Tracker's
After updating from the free Viewer to the free Editor, we've run into a strange issue:
We have a few pdf files containing a links to at set of sub-ordinate pdf files; so it's a kind of 'index-pdf' or jump-list-pdf.
If we open this index-pdf directly in PDF-XChange Editor everything works as intented.
If we open this index-pdf in Internet Explorer (I.e. from our intranet) so it's shown in the browser plug-in, the embedded file links are 'dead' and inactive.
In the old PDF-XChange Viewer, we got a warning at first click, enabling us to continue opening the link and/or dismiss further warnings.
But in the new Editor nothing happens?!?! We've tried to lower the security to 'Allow it' for all actions, but to no avail.
Can you help?
/Martin

Re: 'Dead' file links in browser view
Hi Martin,
Welcome to our forums.
I wonder if it is possible to provide one of the files so we can test them at our end? If you can provide a direct link to one of the files, that would work perfectly.
If you do not wish to upload/post the file to a public forum, you can send it to support@pdf-xchange.com with a link to this forum post.
Regards,
Radi

Re: 'Dead' file links in browser view
Maybe it goes about text with literal "http://"-links, having no real hyperlinks behind it.
So they can be recognized by PDF-XChange Editor as such (thanks to "Create Links from URLs ..." in Edit > Preferences > Page Text), but not by the ActiveX add-on in Internet Explorer.
Just a guess ...

Thanks for the idea Willy,
Indeed this could be one of the possible reasons for the behaviour!
Cheers,
Stefan
