Change the order of Custom Styles

Post by Kleivianeren »

If you have a lot of custom styles they will be listed in the order depending on when you made them. Is there any way to change the order of the styles without deleting them all and create them in the order that you want?

Hello Kleivianeren,

Welcome to our forums.
No there's no way to rearrange them in the styles palette, but you can place them e.g. on a toolbar - and arrange them there in any order you want!

Nightmare. Want to add a 1:1. Would love to see this feature added. I have a paid account and am the Director of a growing engineering company so hoping to buy many more licences in the future. Please support this!

is there any clever way of doing this by editing the customisation settings in the meantime?

Hello eddablin,

The preset visyal styles for the distance tool are stored here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDFXEditor\3.0\Settings\Presets\csDistance\Items

And the scale ratios are in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDFXEditor\3.0\Settings\Presets\Measures\Items

So if you are confident in working with the registry - you can try to renumber the items in the lists you will see there, and put one win 000000 number at the top with your new setting that you want inserted at the first position.

Stefan

Stefan,

Makes it a bit quicker. Are there any plans to integrate it into the software?

Just thought of a slightly quicker alternative for anyone interested. In the scenario above, I could have created that 1:1 style, then cloned all the others so they appeared after and then deleted the originals.

Ugh - with the 7.0 update, a bunch of custom styles have been added in front of the custom styles I already had. So now I have to go through and delete or try the registry re-ordering. And this is on top of changing all the toolbars I had rearranged. Come on Tracker -- only Microsoft does stuff like this to their users. An update shouldn't involve hours of relearning interfaces and re-doing all the customization we had.

Hi Matthew,
We've had a number of requests for the ability in the past few weeks, so we are looking at implementation options right now, no guarantee it'll be in the next update, but hopefully we will see it in the near-ish future!
