Properties Toolbar Missing SOLVED

Hello All,

For some reason, the properties dialog disappeared from the top right corner. The small circle on the left shows where it used to be. I like it there, because it helps me annotate quickly.

For now, I’m using the large dialog box on the right, and it’s painfully slow. When I check “Properties” on the drop down menu, nothing happens. That used to show/ hide it. Additionally, I’ve changed the macro several times with no success. Uninstalling and reinstalling, didn’t work, nor did setting everything to default and rebuilding all my macros.

I normally figure these things out myself, but I’m stumped this time. I’m not sure what I’ve done.

Hello Rcr,

Thank you for your post and welcome to our forums! It seems all your toolbars are hidden. You can toggle them using F8. failing that, go to View> Toolbars> Customise toolbars, then choose 'Reset all'.

With the latest releases of the Editor, all my toolbars are now missing and I can't bring them into view with any of F8, F9, F10, F<xx> keys. The F11 key switches me to fullscreen mode. Please see the Lightshot image at: https://prnt.sc/fz906z. Help, please...

Normally it should be possible to restore the toolbars, in the following way:
- first exit Full Screen mode, via F11
- after this, press F9 to restore the menu bar
- finally, right click the menu bar, and check/activate the toolbars that you need
Note: if the toolbars should not restore or not restore completely, you can try the Edit-menu > Reset Settings.

If the above does not work, then try to resolve the problem by removing the following two keys, via Windows Registry:
NOTE: Make sure to first exit PDF-XChange Editor, before removing these keys.
- [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDFXEditor\3.0\Settings\CmdBars]
- [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDFXEditor\3.0\Settings\CmdExtraOpts]

If this, still does NOT work, then simply delete ALL Editors' settings by removing the complete key, via Windows Registry:
NOTE: Make sure to first exit PDF-XChange Editor, before removing this key.
- [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDFXEditor]

Wonderful! Thank you Willy. I needed the regedit hack to get the job done, and now I have toolbars again...

(I only deleted the 'settings' settings and didn't need to delete the entire class)...
