Hi Support
We have a problem when we are working with more than one Person in a single PDF.
In Programs like MS-Word or MS-Excel it is possible to open a file in a "only reading" Version.
But in Exchange-Editor it seams not possible.
When User A is in a PDF File and User B opens the same file BOTH Users can´t write in this file.
Is it possible for User B to open this file als "only reading" so User A still can work in this File and save it?
( just like it is in other Programs like Word, Excel, AutoCAD etc. )
Or just something like "Who is in this dokument" because it is possible that 10 PP here (and in different offices) maybe are in this PDF so it is like "playing Sherlock Homes" if you whant to save a file and someone is in it...
Thank you
"only Reading" Mode to open an PDF?

Re: "only Reading" Mode to open an PDF?
Hello Alex,
Are those files on a SharePoint server or on a normal network drive?
As if it's on SharePoint - we will be adding such functionality from the next build:
If a file is opened from a Sharepoint server, you should be asked on document opening how to open it – just Open or Open and Checkout. If “Open And Checkout” is chosen and the file is checked out by another user, the Editor will not open the file.
I will now pass this topic to them, to see if we can implement something similar for non SharePoint files as well.
Regards,
Stefan

It is a normal Networkdrive and some of the collegues are connected by vnc.
Would be great if you can do something here!
(We also use a Sharepoint Server but my personal experience with files on sharepoint is that the users don´t use this files because its much more "work" to "check out" and "check in" so the files on sharepoint are mostly no good solution)
