I often receive documents that were scanned and come in a few degrees out. This makes it difficult to use the typewriter tool to fill in forms. I know that I can rotate each individual line of text as I enter it but is there a way to rotate the entire page a few degrees in order to get the lines back straight?

Hello James,
Using the Edito content tool - try and click on the page - then provided that there is no e.g. OCR text on top of the scanned image - you should now have the image selected and be able to rotate it the needed degrees to straighten it out. Check the sample image attached.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: Crooked Scans
This usage case honestly is the ONLY reason I still keep a copy of Acr*bat XI Pro around. Got a copy very cheap from eBay.
Every scanned document I receive first gets a treatment by the still unbeaten Clearscan OCR of Acr*bat. Straightens the pages and turns them into real text (consisting of proper vector fonts):
Ad*be ClearScan with super resolution-technology

Re: Crooked Scans
Hi David,
Thanks for your contribution. As of build 318.0 we provide the option to deskew pages with the OCR when choosing the options to "Create new searchable PDF". Simply tick the "Auto Deskew" box.
I hope this helps!

That's great to hear, thank you Patrick -- and should actually solve James' problem.
Another step towards the complete replacement of Acr*bat!
Cheers

Re: Crooked Scans
I found the deskew for OCR feature useful to deskew a PDF of a book in Burmese. Although the OCR feature could not make any sense of the Burmese text (no surprise there, it's hard enough for me ), running the OCR process on the PDF produced a version that looked a lot better.
OCR recognition and translation of Burmese can wait for a future version.
Meanwhile this improvement could be added to the History of Changes page, together with the other bugs fixed in 318.1.
