How to Open PDF-XChange Maximised?
Every time I double-click a PDF file, it opens in a restored window.
It used to open maximised, and that's what I prefer.

Re: How to Open PDF-XChange Maximised?
I found that if I pin the application to the Start menu then it opens maximised, but when launching a PDF from Explorer it opens in a restored window.
It's more convenient to launch PDF files from Explorer or from downloads in my browser, so using the Start menu is not a useful workaround.

Found another solution:
Open with double click, if minimized double click the title bar, at the further starts with double click it will be maximized.
edit: Just works with the file you did this, others still open minimized

Re: How to Open PDF-XChange Maximised?
Hello,
I am also seeing this issue. It has been brought to the dev's attention and should be addressed soon.
To get around it, I first open a file from explorer, resize the window so that it is nearly maximised, then close it. Now, each time I open a file from explorer the Editor launches "nearly" maximised. I realise this is not ideal - but it does make it more bearable.
Cheers!

Hi, Bhikkhu
Best
Regards.
This issue will be fixed in new upcoming build, probably at the end of this week.Every time I double-click a PDF file, it opens in a restored window.
It used to open maximised, and that's what I prefer.
Best

Re: How to Open PDF-XChange Maximised?
The fix doesn't seem to apply beyond the first window that is opened.
(with pref setting: open new doc in new window)
If I open only one pdf document...YAY: maximised window.
Now leaving that first pdf open, each further doc opened will again open in restored windows as per OP.

Hi Dozie,
Thanks for the post - I'm not able to reproduce this here. Are you 100% certain that you're running build 318.1?
If so, can you please try exporting your settings (Edit --> Export Settings) and upload them here?
Thanks,

Re: How to Open PDF-XChange Maximised?
I just ran a test with PDF-XChange Editor V6 build 318.1 and for me every next PDF is opening in a maximized window.
So, this seems to work correctly.
But, what I am seeing is that - when in Edit > Preferences > Documents > Setup..., only the option "Open each document in a new window" is activated - then every next PDF that I open, via a double-click in Windows File Explorer, does not get the focus.
The Windows File Explorer is still displaying.
There is only an additional button of PDF-XChange Editor that appears for each PDF in the Windows Task bar.
For as far as I am thinking, this is something that is not working correctly.
Best regards.
N.B.: I am working with Windows 10 Home Edition 32-bit.

Hi Willy,
I am not seeing this issue here with build 318.1. Could you please go to Edit> Export settings and send me the resulting file so that I can test further?
Thank you!

I suppose that only "Program Options" must be sufficient.

Re: How to Open PDF-XChange Maximised?
Hi Willy,
Strangely, I am now able to reproduce this issue even with my own settings! I must have done something differently last time
This seems like some annoying behaviour. I have created an internal development ticket in order for our development team to fix this.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to resolve this.

Sometimes the mysteries of computer science are hard to explain.
Nevertheless, many thanks for the fast response and having a look at this particular problem.

Re: How to Open PDF-XChange Maximised?
Sorry about the delay in getting back, but I see others have seen this behaviour.
Yes I am using version 6.0.318.1.
To simplify, I reset my settings and made a single change:
Edit/Preferences/Documents/Tabs and Window-Setup/Open each new document in new window TICKED
(Not sure if it'll be of super help, but I've attached the exported settings as requested)
I've narrowed down the behaviour on my system(XPsp3) to the following:
A) The first PDF to be opened will assume the window state max/restored of the last closed PDF. (this I expect)
B) Any subsequent PDF opened by double clicking an icon on the desktop will always open in a restored window. (this is unexpected in the case where of the currently open PDFs, the last in focus was maximised)
C) Opening by double clicking in an Explorer window (incl one listing PDFs on the desktop) and of course within XchangeEditor(File/Open) will open a window like the last PDF in focus. (this I expect)
... so as far as I can see it's only in B) that it misbehaves.
PS Thanks for the great service you guys provide.
