Splitting pages & weblinks
1.When splitting pages weblinks are lost.Is there any way to keep them alive?
Watch video "Splitting 1"
https://youtu.be/WJKsvP8OAJU
2.The "Split Pages" option gives me a drop-down menu to select either
"change the cropbox of the resulting pages"
or
"change the physical size of resulting pages"
If I select "change the physical size of resulting pages" and "Undo" the splitting afterwards causes the Editor to crash.
If this happens the first time I get an error message and Editor closes. If I try the same action again Editor just disappears. No message,no warning. This happens quite often but not always.
I do not use this option but I wanted to demonstrate the problem.
Watch video "Splitting 2" - in this case the Editor closes without any error message.

Re: Splitting pages & weblinks
Ha Hape,
Thank you for the email. I have confirmed the issue with links when splitting pages, however, I am not able to reproduce the crash. Could you please go to Help> About and let me know what version and build you are running? From the Video, I can deduce that you are probably already using the latest build. Could you please send me the file you used (before split is applied) to demonstrate this issue?
Thank you!

Re: Splitting pages & weblinks
Hi Patrick,
I am using the latest version 317.1 - should have mentioned this right away.
Here is one of the files that cause problems.I just tested it again and this time it took me 3 attempts
before the Editor crashed. It came up with an error message before it shut down.
The pdf-file was produced with a 3rd-party HTML to PDF converter and chances are that this program might be the culprit.
As I said in my previous posting I do not use this option that crashes the Editor.I was just testing various options when I encountered the issue.
=============================
I wasn't sure if the lost weblinks - after splitting pages - were an issue or just something one has to live with it.
Your answer suggests that it is a bug and might be fixed some time in a later release? It would save
from inserting links manually.

Re: Splitting pages & weblinks
Hello HaPe,
I was able to reproduce both problems and created two tickets in our internal system so our developers can investigate the problems:
RT#3633 Editor 317.1: Splitting a page removes all links on the page.
RT#3634 Editor 317.1: Undoing a split page closes the Editor.
Please refer to the above ticket numbers if you request updates on them by e-mail or in related topics.
Regards,
Radi

Re: Splitting pages & weblinks
I was just checking the splitting feature with version 318.1.
The problem is still there,so I guess you haven't had the time yet to tackle the issue. Not a big deal for me,however when I did some more testing I realized that after splitting pages not only web links are missing but also textboxes, stamps etc.
Just try the following:
Create a new empty page.Add a stamp,a textbox,a type writer annotation etc. and split the page. The result will be 2 empty pages. I don't know if this problem already existed in the previous versions, because I was more concentrated on missing web links in pre-existing pdf-files.

Re: Splitting pages & weblinks
Hi Hape,
Thanks for bringing that to our attention! I tested this with the latest build and build 317.1 and can confirm that the behaviour is the same. I have updated RT#3633 Editor 317.1: Splitting a page removes all links on the page to include your report regarding comments and annotations.
Thanks!

Re: Splitting pages & weblinks
Hello guys,
The split pages feature now also splits annotations on pages that are being split. This feature will be available from the next major build 323.
Cheers,
Alex

Re: Splitting pages & weblinks
Hi Alex,
thanks for the feedback !
I have just installed the latest build 322.5 and wanted to split a newly created file with an empty page.
To my surprise the split feature was greyed out.Testing some older pdf-files I was able to split pages in some
files but not all of them.
Could this be a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Re: Splitting pages & weblinks
Aaargh....I have to apologize.Seems to be my mistake. It works when I go to the sub menu as shown in your picture.
What I did was that I (stupidly) wanted to use the "split document" option which is obviously not the same as the "split pages" option.
