Breaking lines into parts

Post by asbic consultants ltd »

Hi

Is there any way that I can split a line into two or more parts?

I'm using the perimeter tool and have decided I want a different line style for part of it. OK I could redo it in two parts but it would be easier if I could click on the line and presto it becomes two lines

Asking too much?!

regards

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for the email - I'm afraid that there isn't any way to split annotations in this manner.

Thanks,

I've been pining for this feature too...

Is it a permanent, hardwired impossibility?

Hi MJN,

I'm afraid so - There is no provision in the PDF Specification that would allow for this, as far as I'm aware.

Cheers,

Hi all,

I would draw the polygon, then copy/paste a copy of it (it should be pasted exactly "into place"), and then change color and delete unwanted parts of the copy.

Thanks for the valiant try David!

I do quantity takeoffs for precast concrete and I use the lines for calculating the quantity, so it would not be a good idea to have lines on top of each other.
Besides, I'm usually having to change many small sections to other colors (typically to change the strength of the concrete)…

But thanks again, guess I'll still have to do some real work for a living :D
