Error when inserting mp3

Post by Victor Warner »

Using PDF XChange Editor 6.0.317.1 on Windows 10.

When I wish to insert a mp3 file (Tools / Comment and Markup Tools / Sound Tool) I am getting the following error message:
An error occurred:

Error [Direct Show]: No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection.

For some mp3 files there is not a problem in inserting them.

I do not understand what this error means.

Hi Victor,

Thanks for the post - I've never seen that error before and I'm not entirely sure what it means either. Can you send a sample MP3 that works, and one that doesn't, as well as any sample document with which the issue occurs?

Thanks,
If posting files to this forum, you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded.
Thank you.

Hi Victor,

Just spoke with a colleague from the dev team on this issue. It turns out that we have a few other files like your that do not embed properly, and we are already trying to resolve this bug. It seems like there are issues with DirectX converting that particular type of file to the required format for inclusion in PDF, and we need to figure out why.

Regards,
Stefan
