Keyboard shortcut to switch from bookmark-area to text-area

Post by uwe paschertz »

Hello,

is there a keyboard-shortcut or is there a possibility to create such a shortcut to switch from the bookmark-area to the text-area and back, to make it active, so to have the possibility to use shortcuts in the other area without using mouse?

Thank you!

Hi Uwe,

Thanks for the post - no such shortcut exists currently and there is no way to set one. I'll put this to the Dev. Team, to see if one can be added.

Cheers,

Hi,

Would you please re-consider this request? I think it would be so great if we can switch focus between document and bookmark with only keyboard like a breeze!

My current workaround is to switch focus from bookmark to document with Ctrl+F -> ESC, but still haven't found the opposite way around.

Hi lly,

Thanks for the post - I'm afraid that this isn't a feature likely to be implemented. The complexity of implementing the ability to set the focus of panes, certain pop-ups, the document, etc. is quite high and would take quite a lot of work. Even once implemented, my colleagues and I are not confident that this could be done properly and intuitively.

Perhaps it's something that we would look at again, in the future, if there were an appropriate amount of call for such a feature.

Thanks,

Hi Will,

Thank you for the prompt response. From your reply I can see it's not an easy one.

Here're what I found from the other guy, just for your information:

I hate mice. It would really be useful to be able to move between an open document pane and the thumbnail pane (or other panes like Bookmark). It has been 12 years. Any chance that this problem has been solved yet? --Chris

Hello Chris,

No I am afraid that it is still not possible to fully navigate the Editor without a mouse, and switch between the different areas of the Editor interface with just a key combination.

Kind regards,
Stefan
