Save As ... in the directory of source file
Hi,
I own PDF Xchange Editor and am quite frustrated that every time I want to save an edited or commented PDF file as another copy (because I want to keep the original), some random directory is offered, but never the actual directory of the source file.
Is there any setting to prevent this? I'm tired of searching the directory every single time.

Re: Save As ... in the directory of source file
Hello michael haas,
The window should offer you the last used location. This is a standard windows feature and we do not control it. We just ask windows to present you with the SaveAs window, and once you are done selecting the path - we take it from that window and use it.
Regards,
Stefan

Hi Michael,
is that what you want?:
Edit / Preferences / Documents / Save Documents / Choose destination folder => Original document's folder
Cheers

Re: Save As ... in the directory of source file
Just realized it does not listen to this setting when doing "Save as Optimized..." (only on "Save as...").
I think both commands should listen to the setting in Preferences...

Confirming the problem.
Is the "Save as Optimized" feature supposed to listen to the "Save Documents" settings in Edit > Preferences > Documents ?

Re: Save As ... in the directory of source file
Hi guys,
For me, all 'Save' functions other than the Save As Optimized... behave correctly. I've passed this along to the Dev. Team and have created a ticket out for the issue (RT-3545).
Cheers,

With 6.0.318 "Save as Optimized..." now correctly saves to Original document's folder if told so in Preferences / Documents / Save Documents / Choose destination folder - solved!ChrisZ16 wrote:Just realized it does not listen to this setting when doing "Save as Optimized..." (only on "Save as...").
