Edit pre-installed search-engine

It is not possible to edit pre-installed search-engine. Why? I don't need the English Wiki, I want the German one.

And the feature depends on the existence of characters in the PDF. If I have a scanned PDF, I can not use the search engines.

Hi Peter,

Yes the predefined search providers are protected, so you can not edit them, but you can add your own custom ones "on top" and use only those. You can also delete the predefined ones if you wish - editing them is disabled, but removing them is perfectly possible.

As for the search in Image based PDFs - you can always OCR them and then select the invisible OCR text layer and search that.

Regards,
Stefan

No, I don't mean to search in the Image file. If I read "Chryselephantine" in the PDF, then I want to type it in the Wiki-search inside Editor and get a result - without OCR and without starting the search engine from my browser.

Hi Peter,

Are you looking to type a search term into a toolbar and click a 'Search' button, that then searches using the specified provider?

Hi Peter,

Thanks for that, I understand and thought that may be what you were referring to.

I'll speak with the Dev. Team and will see what can be done.

Cheers,
