5.5.313.0 Rectangles drawn are invisible but exist

Post by TerraD »

Hi

I do not see rectangles I add to a PDF. While I draw them they do have the have the desired color, but a soon as I deselect them they disappear. The rectangles are still here (can be selected). As soon as I flatten the document, they will be visible. I only have this effect for rectangles, not for lines, oval, arrow, ... If this is a manipulation mistake how do I avoid this?

Kind regards
Walter

My guess is that the stroke and fill are both white (or the same as the page colour). Check the properties in the Properties toolbar.

Attach a sample PDF if my guess is incorrect.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the posts!

TerraD - please do send in the sample PDF, as I'm not seeing this issue here.

Thanks,

Of course not!

I made a little video showing the problem: http://youtu.be/cpqFSVAijIg (video will be removed as soon as problem is solved).

As the .PDF contains some proprietary customer information I prefer not to publish it public. Can you send me your Email or a non public way to communicate?

And please always do remember: I consider it possible that I made some stupid error to cause this behavior!

Hi Walter,

While watching your video on YouTube, we can clearly see that the Rectangle Tool property "Blend Mode" is set to "Overlay", while it is "Normal" for the other objects.

So just change this thing and your problem should be solved.

Regards.

Hi guys,

Willy - you're dead-on here, so thanks for that :)

TerraD - please do change the blend mode to "Normal" and this will function as desired. To set this, please make sure that you have the Properties Toolbar enabled (Ctrl + E).

HTH!

Thank you very much for this help! Works very smooth now and exactly as expected! Will delete video in order not accumulate too much ballast on youtube...
