Not opening in IE11; opening PDF-Xchange Editor iteself

Microsoft did a repair on my W8.1.1. Now PDFs do not open inside IE11. Instead they open in PDF-Xchange Editor.

Any ideas how to fix this?

That did not do it.

Also, The PDF-Xchange Editor plugin only appears under Plugins that do not need permission. It does not show under All Add-ons. Do I maybe need to re-install?

Yes - please do uninstall, reboot, then download and install the Editor from the latest installation package:

That did not help. The plugin is still showing in the "Run Without Permissions" addons. And the .PDFs open in PDF-Xchange Viewer, not IE11.

Also, I am trying to open a .PDF that is on my SSD. This worked fine before Microsoft repaired my Windows 8.1.1

I would really appreciate a fix for .PDFs not opening inside IE11. Plugin is there in Run without Permissions and enabled. I get an empty tab and the .PDF opens in PDF-Xchange Editor.

Running PDF-Xchange Editor 5.5.312.1

Now Outlook 2013 is telling me there is no viewer installed to display a .PDF attachment in the email.

Can you try to set view in IE, and register preview handler as shown on the screenshot?

Still not working.

I just uninstalled and then deleted the Tracker folder, rebooted, and re-installed PDF Tools which includes PDF-Xchange Editor.

Can you advise specifically what Microsoft repaired for you ?

Also I think we have about exhausted what we can do without actually doing a remote session to your machine directly ourselves and taking a look - if you are happy to do this please see here;
