After tracker updater runs, Windows Explorer issue

Post by lknowlton »

Hello,
After updating PDF Xchange Pro on 2/10/15 on Win 7 x64, Windows Explorer's normal directory tree view is now only displaying Libraries. This again only happened after updating with Tracker Updater and has occurred on each PC thus far updated. If you need more information, please let me know and any assistance with this would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi Larry,

This was a known issue with the release of build 312. Please download and run the following, to install 312.1, as this was released specifically to address this problem:

HTH!
If posting files to this forum, you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded.
Thank you.

This bug nearly drove me crazy. I have been running various diagnostics applications for days, and nearly uninstalled my firewall and dropbox. It never crossed my mind it could be this application. All is back to normal after updating to 312.1.

In case others experience similar problems, Windows Explorer failed to show the content of various folders. WE would take for ever to populate the folder display, showing the progress bar that never completed while WE was trying to read the entries. When one of these folders was involved copy/move would never complete. Open/Save from within applications worked though, which reassured me it was not the HDD. To make things more peculiar, sometimes these folders could be read fine, particularly early after a restart, but once they stopped being accessible, they remained inaccessible for the rest of the session.

Hello glocal,

Yes it was a frustrating bug indeed! And we tried to release the new fixed build as soon as possible after discovering this!
Apologies for the inconvenience caused!

Regards,
Stefan
