crash under wine in Ubuntu

Post by tim126 »

PDf-XChange Editor (version 5.5, build 311.0) constantly crashes under wine 1.7 in Ubutnu 12.04.

Here is the error information when it crashes:
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x7d6f214e (thread 0009), starting debugger...
err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled exception code c0000005 flags 0 addr 0x7b83b795
I wonder what it means and if it can be solved? Thanks.

Hi Tim,

Please try using Wine 1.6.2, as 1.7 is still considered to be a Development release.

Cheers,

Hi Tim,

While 1.6.2 may also crash, it may not be for the same reasons. Please do give 1.6.2 a try and let us know the details of the crash.

Also, could you please provide all of the following:

1) What version of Ubuntu are you running?

2) What installer was used to install the Editor? (i.e. 64-bit Editor MSI or 32-bit XChange Pro EXE)

3) Does it crash when you're doing the same thing, each time? If yes, what are you doing that seems to cause the crash?

Thanks,
