Are there Any Voice Controls?

Post by Bhikkhu Pesala »

I looked in preferences, Plugins, but did not see any options for changing the voice volume, speed, or accent.

Am I missing something? Are there any plans to improve this? It's a bit fast and too quiet to be as useful as it might be.

Hi Bhikkhu,

look in Edit --> Preferences --> Speech. There you will find controls for volume, accent (any voices available/installed in Windows), pitch and rate.

Thanks. I got it now. So many options in PDF-XChange you have to scroll down to find them all. ;)

Speed and volume are better. Now all I need to do is find a better voice. All my searches drew a blank there.

Is there any way to fix the problem with ligatures? The plugin is confused by words like Benefit with an fi ligature.

Hi Bhikkhu,

I have passed that to Vasyl. It might be that this is a limitation of the text-to-speech tool we are using, but if there is anything we can do at our end to improve the ligature handling - we will!

Regards,
Stefan
