Can't Select Highlighted text

Hello,

After I highlight text I can't seem to use the Select Text Tool to either select that text or text within the highlighted section. Text outside of the highlighted sections I can highlight and copy no problem, it's just text which has been highlighted that I can't select unless I begin outside of the highlighted area.

I'm using PHD-XChange editor and I'm all up to date re: updates.

Thanks for the posts - in the Editor, Exclusive Mode has not been implemented, but we hope to have it included in the next build of the Editor if all goes smoothly.

Hello,

None of the tips seemed to have fixed the problem. In Preferences-->Comments there isn't an option for "Exclusive Mode" (though I do notice that people are talking having not implemented it yet into the Editor as of 2012). The "work around" by placing the cursor above the highlighted line but below the above is less than optimal and prone to inducing frustration if the above line is highlighted as well (bc then the work around doesn't work). Holding 'shift' as some have suggested doesn't work with the most current build of the Editor either.

Any additional suggestions/fixes would be much appreciated. Thanks!

1. Activate the "Select Text Tool" on the toolbar in order to get the usual text cursor:
2. Click inside any word (that is not highlighted) near the highlighted text: you get a blinking cursor like in any text editor
3. Use the four Arrow keys on the keyboard to move the blinking cursor to the start position of what you want to select (inside the highlight)
4. Use Shift+Arrow keys on the keyboard to select any amount of text (inside the highlight) from the blinking cursor position
5. Copy (or underline, strike, etc.) the selected text.
