Viewer plugin in mozilla browser, when I have Editor

Post by bawldiggle »

I hope this is in the correct forum -- considering it is a Viewer/Editor cross-over :?

Recently I installed Editor to trial ... (alongside Viewer)

In my mozilla browser "Palemoon" >> Plugins ...
I notice PDF-XChange Viewer 2.5.214.0 ... plugin installed
- I assume from the original Viewer install over 12 months ago.
- I no longer use Viewer -- preferring Editor (vastly superior)
- Palemoon extensions+plugins are Firefox extensions+plugins

Now when any PDF web page is opened the default viewer is Editor, but there is no listed Editor plugin. :?

I want to uninstall Viewer
Q1. if Viewer is uninstalled will the Viewer plugin be removed too.
Q2. if Viewer-plugin is uninstalled how do I activate Editor as my preferred web-page-PDF reader/viewer

Thank you :)

Hi Bawldiggle,

Thanks for the post - this all seems to be working as expected here for me and the plugin shows properly:
Untitled.zip
(398.46 KiB) Downloaded 90 times
Can you tell me the build of the Editor that you're using? Also, have you tried a re-installation of the Editor?

Uninstalling the Viewer should be fine and should definitely remove the plugin from Palemoon, though this shouldn't affect the Editor plugin at all.

Cheers,

Thank you.

Will +1 :)

Uninstalled Viewer > rebooted
Clean reinstall of Editor and plugin is now listed

All good ... thank you for your help :)
