to highlight a text is not possible

I downloaded PDF-XChange Editor for test purpose today.

It is possible to draw a line or to add a remark. I have tried several times to highlight a text without success. If I select an area the drawn line will vanish without the colour is shown.

What can I do?

Could you please zip the file and post it so that I might be able to have a look? I suspect that the PDF is image based which is causing the inability to select parts of it.

Dear Patrick,

I have captured a website with "FireShot Pro" for Firefox v. 0.98.56
and saved it as PDF-file.

If the PDF is image based, what else could I do to capture websites and have the possibility to annotate and highlight areas?

Hi Ottoly,

Thanks for the post - the best suggestion that I could make, would be to try using the OCR feature of the Editor (Document --> OCR Pages). This will place an invisible layer of text over the top of the document and should then allow you to highlight the text.

Alternately, you could try using the Pencil Tool with the blend mode set to multiply, this will then give you a kind of 'freehand' highlighter.
