Typewriter Tool - cursor bar

When I used PDF Xchange Viewer, the typewrite tool logically showed a cursor bar so I could place it exactly where I wanted to type eg. on a preprinted line.
Since moving to Xchange Editor, this functionality has gone and I get a cross which is most unhelpful for accurate positioning.
I see there are other topics in the Editor forum about making this cross bigger/bolder. I wonder if they would find it easier with a vertical bar instead of a little cross.
I also see my very issue has been raised before in the Viewer form. There it was stated that in one version the bar was replaced with a cross, then in subsequent version the bar was reinstated.
I confess I miss the point as to why one would use a cross when positioning the cursor ready to type text. Think MS Word, it has a vertical bar where you are typing.

I'm one of the people that would like the bigger bolder cursor.

A vertical bar locating the exact start point of where you are typing would also be good.
