Hello again old.pdf.user

The feature for checking for updates is still in the works and I really do not have anything to say on some kind of timeline. I do know however that when it is implemented, the updater will be all inclusive. Likely automatically checking for updates and notifying you as soon as one is available. This is still in the initial stages of development, do for the time being please check out the downloads page on our website.
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product/downloads and cross reference the build listed on the website with the build you are using.

To check what build you have go to Help-->About

OK, it's good to know it's in the works.
I'll be watching for it.
Thanks.

Please do not forget the options to:

-not install the updater at all ( for companies that use their own deployment systems and that do not want their software to "radio around on their networks"... )
-completely disable the installer for all users, when it´s installed on a machine ( machine wide changes make it a lot easier to handle, user based changes always come with scripting/gpo/logonscripts... )
-specify a proxy server / logon credentials during a silent installation

Thanks, PICE

Hi Pice,

Yes - most likely the updater tool, like most of the other components in our products will be one that you can select whether to install or not.
As for updating - it will require admin privileges - so end users with limited privileges won't be able to touch that on their own machines anyway.

Stefan

Hi fghj,

To build on Stefan's last post, the Dev. Team have informed me that we hope to implemented this for build 309.
