Text as link

Post by horst siegert »

Hi,
I know about the 'link tool'.
Is it possible to format a text within a text box as link instead?. If moving the textbox or editing the text, the rectangle linkbox defined via the link tool will remain at it's place.
Thak you, horst

Hi Horst,

Unfortunately no - the PDF specification does not allow this. You need to either use the link tool - or have your text an explicit URL (e.g. www.example.com) - and then have the Editor (and other PDF viewers) recognize this as a link and allow you to click it even if there is no link tool object on top of that text.

Stefan

Hi Stefan,
Tracker Supp-Stefan wrote:- the PDF specification does not allow this. ...
After reading your reply I had a closer look to an existing pdf document containing a table of content and recorgnized all the 'text'-links as 'link rectangles'.
Then I wrote a test file with my standard publishing software and exported the file with a containing text link as pdf. The same.
I haven't known this.
So, honestly, thank you for the lesson. horst
