Default font size for markup texts
Hi,
first of all: congratulations to the Editor (307.1)! It makes a deep impression of improvement. Visibly much better rendring than Viewer and plenty of other improvements. Keep on track!
Observation: there is a way to make the markup text smaller/bigger with corresponding toolbar elements editing the markup text, but I found no way to make the selected size the default size (which falls back always to 12pt) - see screenshot.
Question: Is there a way to set the default font size for the text used in the markups?
Regards
Piotr

Re: Default font size for markup texts
When editing a text box, there's a button on the toolbar saying "Make default style."

Hi,
I expected this from Viewer, but this button is doesn't exist the Editor.
I even looked into configuration of the toolbars and found nothing giving the expected effect.

Piotr

The button does exist in the editor.
Select the text for editing, not the text object.

Re: Default font size for markup texts
OK, I see the reason of our misunderstanding: the wording in the initial post.
I mean the text of a e.g. "Sticky Note" or "Highlight", not the text of a "Text Box". The "Text Box" has indeed such button, while Sticky Note or Higlight don't.
On the attachment is depicted exactly what I want: text of a Sticky Note.

Re: Default font size for markup texts
Hi Piotr,
Thanks for the post - I believe that, given how many major changes were implemented for Version 5.5 build 308, it may not have been possible for them to implement this there. I've created a feature request ticket and this is something that we will look into adding as and when we can, if at all possible.
We appreciate your patience and understanding here!

Re: Default font size for markup texts
Hello,
actually we have 309 and the setting of the default font size for the most popular markups: Sticky Note and Highlight Text are still not in.
This makes the use not easer taking into account that this feature has been implemented for many other markups (Text Box, Callout Box).
Any hope to make it more prominent in the priority?
Regards

Hi Piotr,
Thanks for the follow-up - I'm hoping to have a discussion with John (the CEO) today, about features like this. I will see what I can do to bump up the priority of this.
Cheers,

Re: Default font size for markup texts
Hello,
I'm getting frustrated now having a look at 310. There seems still to be no chance to set a specific font style, particularly the size....
This costs us many, many clicks which could be avoided having a different style...

Re: Default font size for markup texts
Hello Piotr,
The Sticky notes and e.g. the highlight pop-up box are not intended in the PDF specification to be too complex, and while you can change the style (and size) of the text in those with build 310 - setting up a default style is not yet available indeed.
I just checked other competitor products - and I could not find such an option in them either - including Adobe's Reader XI.
Regards,
Stefan

Hello,
I've got a look into the settings of my Reader X. Font and size are configurable there (see screenshot ).

Piotr
P.S. I have only a german Reader installation.

Re: Default font size for markup texts
Hi Piotr,
Thanks for that - as Stefan said previously, we do intend to allow for defaults to be set in a future release. For now, I'm afraid that we don't have information on when that might, but it is coming.
