Upgrading: How to import old preferences file? (*.dat)

Hi,

I've just used my free upgrade to PDF-XChange Editor. Everything is shiny so far, but I don't know how to import the old *.dat file with my preferences / personal settings. The new editor uses *.xcs instead of *.dat.

Is there any way to convert the old format into the new one? Thanks for your help!

Hi Ringelsocke,

Thanks for the post - I'm afraid that this is not possible because, as you noted the two use different file types to store the preferences. They also very different applications - the Editor was completely re-written from the ground up.

Well, I'll give the new editor a try but if it doesn't feel like an improvement, I'll return to the older version. Hope, Tracker offers to re-activate my serial key then? I didn't expect to lose it, if I install the PDF-XChange Editor.

Hi Ringelsocke,

If you have a valid Editor serial key, it should be valid for the Viewer too. However, not all Viewer keys are valid for the Editor. If you wish to know if your key is valid, please do NOT post your key here, but instead email either sales@pdf-xchange.com or support@pdf-xchange.com.

OK, that would be great. Just noticed in my user account that the other serial key has been blocked. But of course I haven't tried to switch to PDF-XChange Viewer Pro yet.
