Viewer render fine....Editor NOT!

Post by blade_master777 »

Hi,

I've just attempted to open some PDF's I've been reading via Viewer since I've owned it, in Editor. And I'm getting incorrect renders in all these files. I get various errors in different files. The only consistent thing that happens is Editor does not render pdf's correctly. I wanted to attach an image showing the issue in a simple file with two shapes and some text, but it appears I don't have permission to attach.

Is editor in beta?

There is no problem with attaching PDF files, though presumably there's a size limit. A PDF is much more useful than a screen shot, though both would be good.

Other file types can be attached as *.7z or *.zip

Hi Blade, Bhikkhu,

Indeed you need to archive images first and then attaching them would be possible, but just as Bhikkhu said - attaching the problematic PDFs would be much better.

Looks fine to me. Same in the Viewer, Editor, or Adobe Reader.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the post and thanks for the input Bhikkhu, always much appreciated :)

Blade Master - I actually am seeing a slight difference in the rendering between the Viewer and the Editor. The Viewer renders the page with a slight green border, whereas the Editor and Adobe do not. Could you advise as to which is the correct way for the document to be rendered?

Cheers,
If posting files to this forum, you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded.
Thank you.

Hi, and thanks for the responses. I've just downloaded build 307.1, which has fixed my Wacom tablet issues, which is great, but opening the above file gives me the same result. I've attached another PDF which has screen grabs of the previous test_doc rendered in each app.

Editor is rendering the graphics black, where as viewer renders them fine. I hope you can see what I'm talking about.

Thanks again.

Hi again.

I've just attempted to use the editing tools and the issue I mention above about colour rendering black, applies to the tools as well. eg. I select the oval tool, and it draws fine, I can change the size, shape, and thickness. However when I attempt to change the colour, it stays black. The docker displays the correct colour, but the graphic still renders black. This happens with all the drawing tools.

Another interesting thing that happens is when you go to FILE, OPEN, the programs lists previous opened files, and shows a little thumbnail of the document, then when you hover over a document, it displays another larger thumbnail of the document. Both of these are rendered correctly, however when you open the document, the graphics are black.

See attached pdf.

Thanks again.

Hi blade_master,

Please go to Edit -> Preferences -> Accessibility and check whether some of the options there are not turned on.

Faced a similar issue ... turning off "use black point compensation" in the color management options, resolved the problem.
