Missing Meta Data
Did a search for meta and found no results..
In the editor:
1. The additional metadata is missing yet it shows in PDF Viewer
2. The copyright status does not drop down to anything it stays on unknown.
Just tried to add screenshots for you but png and jpg not allowed.

Re: Missing Meta Data
Hi pjb11,
Thanks for the post - could you please provide a sample file so that we can take a look? If you don't want the contents of the file to be public, please send the file to support@pdf-xchange.com and we'll take a look, otherwise, please package the file in a .zip folder and upload here.
Cheers
Will

Re: Missing Meta Data
Just to confirm what pjb11 did find.
When you open a PDF with PDF-Viewer and go to File > Document Properties
> at Description you can fill-in/complete the Document Info, like: Title:, Author:, Subject:, Keywords:, and
> via the "Additional Metadata"-button you can fill-in/complete: =Document Title:, =Author:, Author Title:, =Description:, Description Writer:, =Keywords:, a Copyright Status: choise, Copyright Notice:, Copyright Info URL: (fields indicated with an = sign are the same as in the Document Info)
Now when these fields (mentioned here above) have been completed and the PDF has been saved, you open this last one via PDF-Editor and go to File > Document Properties. You will see that only the content of Title:, Author: and Subject: are shown. The Keywords: field is empty and when you click the Additional Metadata-button, no fields are filled in, they are all empty, and the Copyright Status is on "Unknown".
Many thanks for having a look at this.

Re: Missing Meta Data
Thanks for the clarification Willy Van Nuffel,
I've passed this to the dev team, and they will make sure that the Editor shows it all correctly just as the Viewer does.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Missing Meta Data
Hi Sorry for the delay. Been a busy few days.
I have emailed Stefan the screenshots, though Willy Van Nuffel summarised what my post was pertaining to.
Thanks.

Re: Missing Meta Data
Thanks Paul,
Got the files, and created a ticket in our internal system:
#1860: Editor 3.0.301: Not showing Metadata
So that we can properly track and fix this.
We will post here when there are further news on the subject.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Missing Meta Data
I have been using PDF-XChange Viewer and recently installed PDF-XChange Editor. Some of my PDF files contain metadata in the Subject field which are displayed in Windows Explorer.
Uninstalling PDF-XChange Viewer resulted in this metadata getting "lost" in Windows Explorer, though they are still visible in the properties dialogue of PDF-XChange Editor.
Reinstalling PDF-XChange Editor does not solve the problem, but reinstalling PDF-XChange Viewer in addition to PDF-XChange Editor resolves the issue.
This begs the question as to whether the Shell Extensions included in PDF-XChange Editor has been fixed! I am using PDF-XChange Editor 3.0.307.1

Hi mantao,
I've asked a colleague from the dev team (the same that worked on ticket #1860) to comment further on your latest post.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: Missing Meta Data
Hi Mark,
Apologies but it seems like I never got the reply I requested. Can you please try installing build 307.2 of the Editor - and if the metadata is still missing I will ask again?

Stefan

Re: Missing Meta Data
Thanks Stefan,
Have downloaded and installed PDF-XChange Editor 3.0.307.2 ... it appears that the metadata issue observed earlier has been resolved in this build.
Thanks once again for your support.
