Annotations & JavaScript

Post by Dmitry D. »

Hello.
There is a document with object «Screen Annotation».
This object has Action (JavaScript).
Adobe Reader, Foxit Reader can process this action, Viewer and Editor does not.
Could it possible to parse Actions for the such Objects?

Hi Dmitry,

when I open this file in Adobe, oas well as both our Viewer and editor it appears to function exactly the same. I'm not a developer myself fo I'm not able to look under the hood of this file so I wonder if you can describe for me what it should be doing before I take this to one of the developers?
Best regards

Screen annotations are not supported in the Editor for now.
They will be supported in the nearest future.

Thank you, Ivan.
What a support level is planed — read only or full (create and change)?
And nearest future, approximately how much this — one month? two?..

In the next build we are planning to have at least basic support for read this type of annotation (annotation itself cause no problem, biggest issue with media players that can be associated with this type of annotations). Future builds should have full support.

Unfortunately build 302 still does not read Screen Annotation actions.
Is there any hope for the next build will be?

Hi Dmitry,

Thanks for the post - the Devs. have informed me that support for this should be in the next build.

Thanks, hope that helps!
