Assuming you are wishing to type on a page/add text etc - then you simply type the text on the page and highlight (drag your mouse over) the text and change the font style in the toolbar on the top of the docum, ent - if you need to change the 'default' font used - please see this KB article ..

also if you have not already downloaded - there is a complete user help file available here ;

John, thxs. - but wait a minute here - I can't even type anything in the open doc - I watched the hotlink instructions you sent, but I can't get to write/do anything on the page of my open doc. - I don't even see the PDF-XChange 4 Pro icon on my desktop - maybe I've to unistall everything and reinstall?
Help please - JC

sounds odd - yes - please do uinstall/ re-install,

https://www.pdf-xchange.com/PDFXVwer.zip

(assumes you only have the PDF-XChange Viewer installed - otherwise you will need to download the relevant package from our web site downloads page)

One point - I assume the document is not restricted by the Author from making changes - see the document properties - use CTRL + D to view

Thanks

Thxs. again John.
I've purchased this a.m. the PFD-XChange 4 Pro, although I had the 'demos' of PDF-Viewer and PDF-Tools 4 already installed for few weeks.

The Author of the doc. I need to modify has no restrictions (Security Method: No Security) and everything is 'allowed' under 'Doc. Permission Detail".

Can't make any sense of why I can't even see the FONTS TYPE AND SIZE command selections on the top toolbar, although I looked under "Customize Toolbars", "Format" (they are not shown) - ???

Can you please right click on the toolbar area and see if they are unchecked ?

they are 'all' checked - the "fonts command" inside FORMAT is not existent.

Let me be more explicit: I can't find the "THEME FONTS" and its corresponding SIZE little windows in the top quick access toolbars - I tend to believe this is why I can't select and change font's type and size - maybe I'm thinking wrong, but I'm against a wall here and can't see the solution.

I did looked into all hotlinks you sent me - also, I checked into many of the dozens of pdf files I have in the PC - most allow for changes under the Security section of the Documment Properties.

Maybe the fact that I purchase the upgrade to PDF-XChange 4 PRO and installed it on top of the existing PDF-Tools 4 and PDF-Viewer 'demo' files have something to do with this - I did added the KEYCODE on all of them via copy-paste - should I uninstall & reinstall everything? - do I need your permission before doing it?

Please help me because the reason I purchased all these was to modify existing pdf files, changed them to Word files, viceversa, etc., etc. - if this product cannot do all these file manipulations, I'll have to ask for a reimbursement of the money spent - believe me, I'll be greatly dissapointed since my business (Tutoring of math/physics/science) can be positively influenced by using the features I thought this software would handle.
thxs.,
JC

I am afraid we are talking at cross purposes - the current version does not allow you to modify existing page content of PDF files such as text and images - you can add text and images (and mimic text modification by placing new text over existing text etc) but you cannot modify the actual text itself.

This is coming in version 3 at the end of May.

Voilá - now I know I was trying to do something not possible at the present time - I'll wait for the next upgrade - thxs. John for the advise/patience.

Hello BOBANA,

I am afraid that the PDF specification only specifies Left, Right and Center as the possible horizontal text alignment options for annotations.

But in V3 of our Viewer (upcoming) - you would be able to edit base text as well - and for that text there is also a "Justify" text alignment.

Best,
Stefan
