PDF Exchange V4 PRo SDK with Windows 11

Greetings.
Our software has been using the SDK v4.0 for years, through the various Windows releases.
I just got a failure reported by a customer who got a new Windows 11 PC.
Can you confirm that the SDK-supported software will / should run in Win-11?
Thanks, AL

Hello, ALDEWACS

Our Version 4 software and SDK's came out long before the release of Windows 11, and so I cannot offer a guarantee that all functions will work exactly as they did in prior versions of windows, especially with Microsoft making some more drastic changes in recent releases to area like printing.

Without more details about what exactly the problem is, The best I can suggest is that you try running the latest OS and troubleshoot directly. If you can identify what the actual problem is, or where the error arises, we may be able to help you find a workaround, but due to the age of the V4 SDK's I cannot make a promise that it will be possible.

Kind regards,

Understood, Daniel.
I'll dig deeper.

If I need to upgrade to the current version of the SDK, I assume *that* would work OK in Windows 11?

Hello, ALDEWACS

Yes, the current version of the SDK supports windows 11, just as our End user products do, but migrating from V4 to V9 would essentially require an overhaul of your code. It should also be noted that SDK sales are now handled on a per-case basis requiring management approval. If you are considering that, please email sales@pdf-xchange.com for more details.

Kind regards,

Just an update on this.
I remotely observed the actual install on the customer's PC.
Actually, it turned out to be ... a MAC, running a Windows 11 emulator.
The PDF Xchange 4 driver "seemed" to install and did not throw an error, but it did NOT show up at all in the list of installed printers.
He's going to take the extra step and print to a Microsoft PDF printer, so that is acceptable to him for now.
We just don't have other feedback (yet?) from other customers, so it's unsure whether on a "real" PC running Win-11, this will be an issue.
Thanks for your input,
AL

Hello, ALDEWACS

I see, Thank you for looking into that, Keep us posted if anyone else, not emulating on a Mac, encounters the issue, and of the details you can find in that case. Until then, I think we can consider this case closed?

Kind regards,

I'll provide feedback on anything further that comes up. Negative OR positive.
Yes, we should "close" this for now.
Kind regards,
AL
