I am working through the various issues in updating our application to support the new V5 COM driver API (vs. the V3 'escape' API). One complication which I'm not sure how to handle is that we use a tree control (SftTree from softelvdm) which supports its own print rendering that is used within our application. The control developer will provide a hook with the printer DC allowing us to send the license info so as to remove the demo watermarks, which works for the 3.x API.
How can we handle that in the 5.x COM interface? Would it just be a matter of making sure that the user selected a previously created/licensed instance of the driver? Does that work? If so, wouldn't that imply that once our application creates a licensed instance of the driver, the user could use it with any application? Would that violate the SDK license?
Thanks,
Jack
