OCR created using PDF-XChange not selectable in in Word 2013

Hi Tracker,

We are using PDF-XChange Viewer version 2.0.309. When we OCR a PDF using the OCR function in the Editor, and then open the PDF in Word 2013, the text is not selectable. When we a document to PDF using the PDF-XChange Printer 5.0.272 the resulting text is selectable in Word 2013. Are you aware of this issue? Is there a work-around in 2.0.309 by setting some parameter? Is there, or will there be a new Viewer version that will handle this?

Can you please try with build 312.1 first?

The OCR text layer is placed on top of the image, and in a slightly different way than how the drivers create the PDF files and embed the text in them - so yes there are some differences and it might be that it's Word that can't convert those properly.

If you can also include some samples - that will be great!

It is not an Editor or Viewer issue.
When you OCR an image-based PDF, it adds a hidden layer of text. For PDF processors it looks like a text, you can select, copy etc. but this text is not renderable.
Word just ignores such invisible text in PDF files.
