Hello,
one of our customers experienced problems recently when upgrading our product. Our installer checks the version of the actual PDFXchange driver installed, and simply calls your installer if necessary. In this case some older version of PDFXchange was going to be replaced with the version 4.0.186. They do not have internet connection on their PCs and the installation couldn't proceed.
Do you have any clue why is that? Is it a problem which was fixed in versions of PDFXchange newer than 4.0.186?

Hello Maciej Tokarski,
If you have the proper files for our drivers bundled in your installer - no Internet connection should be necessary. Please make sure that you aren't using our end user installer - as there is an option to select an ASK toolbar - and this could be causing problems. Also the current latest build is 4.0.199 - so also make sure to update your own installer and include the latest msm files we provide.

Hi,
we're using "PDF-XChange Drivers API" installer (executable pdfx4sa_sm.exe). We can't exchange it easily for already released products of our own, therefore my question was if you were aware of any installation issues related to internet connection. If you're not sure, we must investigate further.

Hello Maciej,
The only thing that could be trying an Internet connection I can think of is the ASK toolbar - but it is only included in the end user free Viewer installer so this should not be an issue in the developer packages - as they are stripped down from such things and I would recommend you to check elsewhere in your app.

Hi,
I have just had our project manager for the installers check and he assures 100% that the correct installer (pdfx4sa_sm.exe) for distribution developer purposes does not expect/require any Internet Connection.
