Win7 64bit: Printer Merge Module crashes in Windows Spooler

Post by ikuning »

When uninstalling the 64-Bit Merge Module of PDF Xchange Printer 4.0.184.0 the windows spooler crashes at the end of uninstallation. It happens not on all of our customers PCs, but on many, mine as well. We created already a plain setup containing only the merge module (two separate versions for 32 and 64 bit), nothing else and had the same effect. After this you need some tries of installation to get the printer properly installed again.

See the windows dump - hope it helps.

Hello ikuning,

Thanks for the dump - I will ask the devs to take a look at it, but in the mean time please note that we are at build 195 currently so we would advise you to consider distributing that build to all your clients.

Best,
Stefan
