Menu doesn't work

Menu doesn't work
I've installed PDF-Xchange 4.0 on a couple machines. When I open a new word document, I can go to the menu "PDF-Xchange 4" and convert to PDF. But, when I open an existing word document, and then try to use the menu "PDF-Xchange 4" nothing happens. None of the three options do anything. It does however convert the word document to PDF when you click on the toolbar icon "Convert Document to PDF." This is happening on more than one machine. Any ideas on why the menu doesn't work, yet the toolbar icons do? Thanks in advance.

Can you advise please your version of MS Office and Windows version
