Password Protection for exisitng PDF

Post by shinems » Thu Apr 16, 2015 11:10 am

Can we implement the password protection feature to already existing pdf which is not generated by PDF-XChange Drivers API SDK? If not, how can we do that?

Hello shinems,

Thanks for your question. Provided the original document is not security protected (or you know the owner passoword) - you should be able to change the permissions on any specification compliant PDF file using the PDF Tools SDK and methods like this one:

You have posted in the end user PDF Tools section, but I presume you are after the SDK solution - as you are using the Drivers API already.

Regards,
Stefan
