Gradient area changes entire content to pixel?

Post by Peter2 »

There are some long discussions, relating "Gradient", e.g. here
viewtopic.php?f=62&t=31457
but they are all for Editor and not for Print Driver.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I made a simple drawing / graph with this tool https://www.yworks.com/products/yed# and found that
a) a "pure graph" is printed with vectors to PDF
b) a simple graph which contains an area with "gradient" (a node with 2 fill-colors) is completely printed as pixel-image

I asked the company - they confirmed that there output is only pure vector, and the rasterization is done in one of the following steps
https://yed.yworks.com/support/qa/19430 ... -artefacts

Is there a way to avoid the rasterization of pure vector products? or is the only solution to increase the resolution to 1200 or more (with bad file size ...)

Hi, Peter2

My apologies for the delay in getting back to you here. We will always use the data that is sent to us, be it vector, gradient, or otherwise. The touble here is that Windows is modifying the print job and sending us the image like that instead of leaving it as is.
I am afraid that there is nothing that can be done from our end to address this as it is already modified before our software is even made aware that a print job is coming its way.

Kind regards,
