PDF-XChange Standard V7 - Weird Behavior with Different Word Style

Post by francois maurice »

HI,

I use PDF-XChange Standard V7, build 325.1 on Windows 10.

I saved a Word document in PDF with the tab PDF-XChange.

Some Footer Notes are not directly clickable in the PDF file.
I have to hover a little up over the footer note number to be able to click and get to the note.

I attache tree files.
The first one is my own template (dotm).
The second one is the Word file (dotx).
The third one is the PDF generated file

I inserted 6 notes on the second page of the docx file.
In the PDF file Notes 1, 2 and 6 are OK but Notes 3, 4 and 5 are not OK.
As I said I have to hover a little up over the footer note number to be able to click and get the the note.

It seems to be that PDF-XChange does not treat different Word style the same way with my own template!!
If I attach the docx file to the normal.dotm template all seems ok.

Is this a known issue ?

Thanks,

François

HI,
  • Finally, it is not only a problem whit my template.
  • I can reproduce the problem with normal.dotm
  • But I don't know exactly how I reproduce it.
  • But it seems to be a problem with the paragraph spacing before paragraphs
  • For some styles, but not all, if a put, say, a 12pt spacing before paragraph, the problem occurs
Here's another file but this time whit normal.dotm template.
The fourth note has the problem.

Thanks,

François

Maybe related to this:
viewtopic.php?f=41&t=19491&p=75700

REMARK:
The problem seems to go about the "PDF-XChange Standard Office Plugin" (add-in for Microsoft Word),
NOT about the "PDF-XChange Standard" printer.

Too bad for me !

The option in Word in the "Compatibility" section named "Don't use HTML paragraph Auto Spacing" seems to be no longer available in Word 2016 !!!

Is Traker can do something about it ?

Thanks,

François

The option is still there in Word 2016, but it is in the Layout Options.
It still seems to be a solution for the problem.

Regards.
