Build 309: "Custom Forms" can not be erased

Post by Peter2 »

As said in the title: "Custom Forms" can not be erased. (Tried in English and German)

It asks for confirmation to delete, I click "yes" - nothing happens. I tried two or three times - and get an error: see attachment.

I tried again - the driver and Firefox crashes; closing Firefox with Task Manager asks for closing Windows.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the post - Paul and I were taking a look at this several days ago, as it's something that he noticed. I'll check with him to see if a ticket was made or if the Dev. Team were made aware.

I'll post back when I know more.

Cheers,

Hi Peter,

indeed this has been reproduced. The ticket is RT#2673: "Custom Forms" can not be erased. As usual it's internal only. I've asked for this to be attended to in 310 - it will be up to the dev team to determine if that will happen.

Because working on this again (my program does not work any more ...) I found that there are two different registry for my custom-forms:

Code: Select all

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDF-XChange 5\PDF-XChange Printer 2012\CustomForms\0001	Name	Registryformat
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDF-XChange 5\PDF-XChange Printer 2012\Profiles\Current\CustomForms\0001	Name	Registryformat
The second one seem to be used until build 308(???), the first one without the "profiles\current" seem to be created from build 309.

Something new with this topic?

Hi Peter,

indeed the current build does put that one level up and not in the Profiles key.

Regards the ticket, there is a work item and it is being worked on. No ETA as yet however.

Hi
is it fixed in build 310? The version history tells nothing about it.

Hi Peter,

I've just tested this here and I don't believe that it has been. The Dev. Team have said that they will do what they can to have this fixed for 311.

I've just had confirmation Ivan has already managed to fix this. The plans surrounding the release of 311 - initially this was to include as many of the remaining, missing features of the Viewer. A few small and irritating bugs have cropped up for 310 and we plan to release 311 next week to specifically address these issues. Using '.1' / '.2' builds can cause issues with the MSI's, so we've decided to release it as 311.

Thanks,
